IN the Church of England the dividing line between the Reformation period and the period of post-Reformation theology is rightly placed at the completion and authorisation of the Book of Common Prayer in 1662. During the time between 1662 and the beginning of the twentieth century there have been great differences of opinion and teaching in regard to the Holy Eucharist in the Church of England. The scope of the present chapter is to the end of the eighteenth century.
