This is my first visit to the forum, although we've been using a chat room for about a month (thanks, guys).
My name is Rick, and I'm a Cajun from South Louisiana. I'm a moderator of the Internet forums at the Coming Home Network, a ministry outreach to clergy and lay members of other faith communities founded by Marcus Grodi, Scott Hahn, and Jeff Cavins.
The Journey Home program on EWTN is part of the CHN ministry. Our forums are open to all who are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith, especially converts and reverts, and we'd love to hear (errr... read) your conversion story. We also function as a support group for those who are having difficulties with friends and family over their journey across the Tiber. Our forums are available
here.
I am a Master Catechist for the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux in Louisiana, and hold a Masters' level Certificate in Pastoral Studies (Parish Ministry and Administration) from Loyola University in New Orleans. I'm an instituted acolyte, and have been involved in virtually every ministry available in the Church for over 40 years.
My last employment was as a hospice chaplain and bereavement coordinator. I was laid off a few months ago, due at least in part to Hurricane Katrina and the reduced population in our area. I am currently unemployed. My background is in journalism, accounting, and computers, so if you know of any openings in our area.....
I'm looking forward to being an active participant around here, and we'd love to have you all drop by CHN.
And if you ever doubt that miracles do happen, I give you the New Orleans Saints!
