You will recall Mark's Gospel chapter 8,verses 22-25, there is an extraordinary encounter between Jesus and a blind man.
Jesus laid his hands on him twice and some commentaries sem to suggest that Our Saviour did this because his first laying on of hands did not effect a complete cure.
With the greatest respect, I would disagree withthis and think that the man saw perfectly clearly physically after the first laying on of hands by Jesus, but that Jesus was looking for as it were the correct theological response from the man the first time around, that is to say: Not has my cure worked and do you see anything physically.... but do you see the beauty of God's creation and the way that sin has marred it, and perhaps the man's sin as well, and that I am your saviour who will redeem all of this.
The man makes the haunting unforgettable reply, 'I see men as it were trees walking' .
The Gospel story I think, clearly demonstrates that the man got the message after Jesus put his hands on him a second time because St. Mark says: 'He saw all things clearly'.

I wonder whether you have your own thoughts on how we might look at this passage as an aid to faith.

To me I guess it speaks that I don't always see clearly and that I need to pray often "Jesus Son of David have mercy on me! Lord that I might see, Lord that I might see".   Sometimes I think I can see clearly but I cannot.........that Grace has allowed me to see so far but not yet completely.
That in all things without exemption I am in need of further Grace.  And a reminder to be humble about what I think I can see, my concepts, opinions etc. etc.
