Anonymous (159.53.238.242) Monday, May 12, 2003 - 04:47 pm -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How does one know if they are on the right path to finding out what their vocation is? Besides lifes experiences that could be leading them in that direction.
SrElizabethSDS (67.39.38.108) Wednesday, May 14, 2003 - 10:25 pm -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello!
Good question! The journey towards finding your vocation is one of mystery and full of human experiences. It is hard to put in words or describe the experience, but you just know in your heart and through prayer that it feels right. You can sense that you are going in the right direction when you have support from others, when things go right, when it feels it fits, when it brings joy and freedom into your life. Then...you have to take the risk and make a commitment to that path. Anyone else have some words of wisdom on this topic ? Blessings, Sr. Elizabeth, SDS
dt (159.53.32.42) Thursday, May 15, 2003 - 12:36 pm -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Question: When you come to the point of asking 'what is my vocation' are you actually closer to the point in your life to fullfilling it rather than just beginning it?
LL (159.53.32.42) Thursday, May 15, 2003 - 12:47 pm -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Since I have no one and I am praying to meet someone but its not happening I pray that the desire to want someone is taken away. Why have it if its not going to happen. Marriage that is. You know your vocaion by if it feels right. Marriage feels right. I am still young. So does that mean that I have met mr. wrongs all my life? Being single 'does not' at all leave me with a sense of peace. Nor has the partners I have chosen before that fullfill me. So what advice would one give now?
Thanks
SrElizabethSDS (67.39.42.44) Thursday, May 15, 2003 - 09:15 pm -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear dt,
Asking the question is only part of the journey. Asking the question shows that the person has a geniune concern for becoming the best person they can be for others and God. What do you think about the questioning? Sr. Elizabeth, SDS
SrElizabethSDS (67.39.42.44) Thursday, May 15, 2003 - 09:17 pm -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear LL,
I trust that you will find Mr. Right. I understand the wait is heavy at times...but it will happen...in God's time and some socializing.
Peace, Sr. Elizabeth, SDS

Which looking back made some logical choices but just last year I started to ask after I was on a Jesuit retreat. Just concerened that maybe I missed my calling by saying no to alot of things...
